Output profiles and diversity

The REF took account of the diversity of staff and recognised excellence in all forms and types of research. 

The charts below show that:

• Research outputs by early career researchers and staff with other circumstances were found to be of equal quality to outputs by all staff.
• Excellence was found in all types of research outputs.
• Where institutions identified outputs as interdisciplinary, they were found to be of equal quality to other outputs.
