The charts below show the numbers of doctoral degrees awarded and the amount of research income reported in REF submissions.

As these data were collected on a different basis in the 2008 RAE, the environment data is not comparable between the two exercises. However, the research income trends chart shows the amount of research income reported directly to HESA over the RAE and REF periods.
